Coaching Philosophy

“What is a teacher? I’ll tell you: it isn’t some-one who teaches something, but who inspires the student to give of her best in order to discover what she already knows.”

– Paolo Coelho

I promise to get to know your body and how it moves, by watching closely and asking questions.
I promise to learn what kind of support and motivation works best for you, through our interactions and my observation.
I promise to get to know you, and your body, well before we move towards greater intensity in your workouts.
I promise to share as much of my knowledge with you as possible, and I will make education a priority in our work together. I will try to always tell you why.
I promise to be as sincere in my cheerleading as in my criticism. I will never accept less than what I know you’re capable of. And I will also acknowledge every achievement and personal best — especially those that you may not recognize as significant. As your coach, it is my role to help you see the path towards your highest athletic potential.
I promise to continue learning and growing as a coach. I will do my best to bring you current information and practices that are not only effective, but safe.
